Journey Mental Health and Wellness PLLC
Cindy Bello-Utu, MSW, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

About Me

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and am licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in the state of Washington with prescriptive authority.

I have worked in community mental health for over 15 years, initially as a counselor with a focus on children, youth, and their families.  I returned to school and obtained my Master of Science in Nursing with an Addictions Focus. I worked as a registered nurse in an acute inpatient setting while obtaining by advanced degree in nursing.   I continued my work in community mental health treating children, adolescents, and adults often with co-occurring disorders.  I also obtained a special waiver for suboxone treatment of opiate use disorder.

My primary areas of focus are depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD/trauma. While I am licensed to treat across the lifespan I am only accepting individuals between the ages of 18-65 years old.

My Approach

My approach to treatment is to partner with my clients on their goals for improving mental health symptoms and wellness.  The information obtained in the initial visit is utilized to determine the best course of treatment and recommendations that may include laboratory testing, medication, and coordination of care with your other health care providers, with your consent.  My approach to prescribing medications is conservative and judicious.  I will recommend medications if it will help with your symptoms. We will also focus on other topics that impact your mental health and well-being such as sleep hygiene, self-care, relaxation techniques and substance use.  I provide brief supportive therapy and medication management. All treatment decisions will be a collaborative effort between the two of us. I am dedicated to the care of my patients and will work alongside you through your journey towards mental health and wellness.

I have partnered with Mindful Therapy Group for administrative services related to scheduling and billing.

Services

I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management services between the ages of 18-65 years old.  If we determine at the initial evaluation or during the course of treatment that you are needing a higher level of care or it is not a good match I can assist with referrals to other mental health professionals.

Please note I do not provide court-ordered, disability, forensic or parenting evaluations, service or emotional support animal letters.

I accept insurance and am in network with Cigna, Premera, Regence, UBH, Kaiser, PacificSource, Aetna, First Choice, and Medicare.  I do not accept Medicaid at this time.
